CAKEY CUP:  SSL A League End of Season Double Elimination Tournament

CJ CUP: SSL B League End of Season Double Elimination Tournament

GUIDELINES: Tournaments will be played under ASA guidelines (including SSL League revisions).

PLAYER ELIGIBILITY: A player must play in a minimum of 5 games during the regular season to be eligible to play in the tournament.

SEEDING: Teams are ranked based on the final regular season standings.

TIME LIMIT: Games have a 55 minute time limit. No new inning should start after 55 minutes. Each Championship Game does not have a time limit.

HOME TEAM: The home team is determined by (1) Better win/loss record during the tournament (2) Final standings from the regular season. In the event a second championship game is forced, it is the team from the loser's bracket that will be awarded home team status.

BATS: (Metal Bats) Teams will only be allowed to use the metal bats that the league has supplied for the tournament on the Baseball Field. (Wooden Bats) Teams will be allowed to use any wooden bat that meets the standards on the SSL on the Softball Field. 

BALLS: The league will provide 2 new balls for each game played.

RUN RULE: The game is considered over if a team is ahead by 12 runs after the 5th inning or 10 runs after the 6th inning. There are no run rules for the Championship Games.

EXTRA INNINGS RULES: Last BATTER out from the previous inning begins at 2nd base. Extra innings start with no outs.

CALLING A GAME DUE TO RAIN OR DARKNESS:

If a game is called due to weather or darkness before the 3rd inning is completed:

  • The game will be rescheduled to another day and will start from the beginning (with no runs scored).

If a game is called due to weather or darkness after the 3rd inning is completed but before the 5th inning is completed:

  • The game will resume on another day at the beginning of the inning it was called. The score will revert back to the way it was when the inning began.

If a game is called due to weather or darkness after the 5th inning is completed:

  • The game will be considered a complete game and the score of the last completed inning of play will be the final score.

The Shanghai Softball League Commissioner will rule on all protests.
